If he didn't look so Caucasian it would be perfect.

This does look better then the initial one. The eyebrows and mouth match the original more.
It still looks like a really quick fix in Photoshop. But we'll get a proper model eventually.

Tried to change the colors a bit to match the original Ryo a bit better. And changed the mouth just a tiny bit since Yu Suzuki commented on that.Just a quick try to see what it would look like.

I think it's the shape of the head... It seems off.
Of course the facial features are not there yet.

Yeah. This actually looks like a photoshopped version of the first model. But we shouldn't focus on this, they probably haven't started working on the graphics yet. It will take time before we see how the models will look. All that we have seen was put together just for the kickstarter announcement.

Yeah not sure why his hair colour isn't black and the model still has a long way to go. Still I trust Suzuki will get this right.

I don't understand why people are saying this model looks good. In my opinion it still kind of sucks.

Even Yu Suzuki said he was not satisfied with this model...

At least they're listening and ensure us that they definatley work on his design. As for the hair, it is still black but the intense lighting makes it seem brighter then it is.

It still don't quite understand why Yu keeps showing designs that he's not happy with. I know it's gonna be worked out and I know they were pressed for time to get this done for the KS but I just think that he should've made a Ryo that he's happy with before releasing anything.

I'm liking it.

We know the model is horrible, they know the model is horrible, and even those who have never seen Shenmue before know that the model is horrible, so why in the unholy name of *#¬<@~"!! did they include a close up zoom shot on it in the first video get our eyes on in 14 bloody years ???? WHY WHY ????

and how the hell is this new one supposed to be improved while the original on Dreamcast is still a billion times better ???.

This is much better. Not perfect, but it's not even finished, so that doesn't even matter. I feel much more relieved about the character models now.

The nose looks a little off, among other things. I guess is not possible to import the old data/polygon model?.

Not only he doesn't look like Ryo, he even looks asian, on top of that the model is plain simple horrible and bad modeled, those eyes....also, the fact that they only talk about improving Ryo's
model alon while Shenhua looks even worse...

I am fearing the worst...
