If there was no placeholder, or something that looked more final, he would have used that as ''further proof'' of Sony's ''involvement''.

This article will have no effect on the campaign. It's pure shit slinging and he's feeding on negative energy. I'm amazed this is the kind of crap a videogame website would pay someone to write. you can find similar profundity on any videogame forum, usually written by a soon-to-be-banned user.

thats right, you can't win. if its too polished and professional it would be 'proof that they don't need our money, evil sony is behind it all'. and if all the place holders are amateurish and bad, then they say 'this does not inspire confidence in the project, i'm not donating - neither should you.'

pure negative click bait. you can't blame them i suppose from wanting to make money, they know their trade!

Clearly we have no money spare in the Kickstarter for buying out the media. Negativity buys clicks.

Every sentence in this "article" is worse than the last. "I don't care about KS, or Shenmue, or anything else that might make my opinion on the topic noteworthy, but here's what I don't like about this thing that I don't care about. Specifically, the placeholder art that has no bearing on the final product. Yes, I'm an idiot."

I think we all agree that this article doesn't deserve even a second look, but at the same time it bothers me a lot. It bothers me because it's not simply a bad or unimportant article, it seems to have malicious intent. Why did he bother writing the article? He tries to make it sound light-hearted but I don't think that's the case. I think he's putting this out there with the hope that it might sway the public in some way, perhaps subliminally. I don't buy the lightheartedness. If he really didn't care about any of this, he wouldn't have written it in the first place. I think he wants this whole thing to fail, he wants fans to be disappointed.

I mean, the addition of a physical PS4 copy is unambiguously a good thing. The fans were asking for it and the KS delivered. You can't put a negative spin on this announcement... so he bashes on the temporary pre-alpha-alpha artwork? Are you fucking kidding me?

Umm sorry to plug my own stuff, but can someone with a Gaf account post the 'donotclick' links in the thread and make the point about clickbaiting please?

Kotaku and IGN are the biggest pile of sh*t stained pages you can find. They have been for a long time.

Some people just want to see Shenmue 3 crash and burn, if not genuinely for some silly reason, then just to get a rise.

Bottom line = We've waited 14 years for it and still shouldn't have it. It's extremely petty.

The part that offends me is this kid is employed by a video game "journalism" website and it's pretty obvious he has no idea who Yu Suzuki is or anything about Shenmue's development history. He's just paid to ramble and incite people. He's strutting around Twitter bragging about how none of us understand his stupid article, like it wouldn't fit inside an issue of The Daily Mail or The National Enquirer. It's a garbage article that says nothing and does nothing but make the author look stupid.

The other thing that really bothers me is how dumb people in the comments section are, while giving off this air of smug superiority, like they're too good for this "weird Shenmue" thing. They also know little about the gaming industry, Yu Suzuki or Shenmue. It's a feedback loop, I guess.

Let's not even give that website the dignity of a post on this forum.

Have you seen the state of the bloke who wrote that article? ...and he has the cheek to start discussing appearances?! Spare me!!

Do not give this moron the time of day.. Do not visit that website and let's forget he ever posted such an utterly pointless article; it's as utterly trivial as he is.

This guy is actually hilarious!

What I have learned about Shenmue fans is that they cannot read

What is "placeholder"? What is "concept art"?

I don't get click money for this

That's not my email stop harrasing whoever that is
