The left-side man on picture 1 could be someone else than Zhao Sunming as well I feel, but you might be onto something.

Ziming has fully convinced me about Baihu in picture 2.

No probs- it's from the original load of promo artwork for Shenmue 1 I believe. Ziming or one of the other dojo members can probably confirm but it's old.

Looking into it too much. It doesn't mean Xiuying knows Sunming Zhao. They're just displaying the characters next each other.

To be honest I "saw" it but didn't pay attention.

Seems just like old concept art, but the one that intrigues me is the old man on the right, there's no one that looks similar on the two games.

There's also some kanji behind him, any translations of that ?

It has the kanji 愛 which means love.
