I dont know why so much people have problems with the controls on shenmue, its not intuitive because today most games uses the same standard control scheme, but its no brainer to pause the game or look the manual to see the controls, and in a few minutes you are ryo, i love the control type of Shenmue, and i would love to see a reincarnation of it on my ps4 controller.

I feel pain for Game Informer since I learnt recently to rotate Ryo by pressing the B button. That was one of the Shenmue issues, the lack of information about some gameplay parts besides the manual.

I think it would have helped a lot if R trigger was assigned to run by default. I think that's like the first thing that throws people off and they kind of never get over that.

I have no idea what that B button thing is (I'm playing S2 now so I can't try because B brings up the map). But even as a guy who has played Shenmue for 16 years without knowing that, I can say that it has always had amazing controls that are intuitive and smooth. Some people just suck at games, plain and simple.
