Hello Everyone!

Before we get into our member interview for today, a big thank you to everyone for helping us reach the $4.6M Baisha Battle Event Stretch Goal! Ryo will have a tough battle on his hands with this one!

*** *** ***

Today’s interview is with Kenji Itoso, the newest member of the Shenmue family. After apprenticing under Hayao Miyazaki at Studio Ghibli, Itoso-san went on to be a director in a number of different media fields. More recently, he had been a part of Satoshi Kon’s Dreaming Machine, and also worked on Attack on Titan. Itoso-san is passionate about creating original animation, and his Santa Company and Coluboccoro, (funded through Kickstarter by the way!), have won worldwide acclaim, garnering appearances at the Cannes Film Festival.

Itoso-san has been an integral part of the Kickstarter campaign, working closely with Yu Suzuki as the promotion video director. The Shibuya Scramble scene was all him. Please give a warm welcome to Kenji Itoso!

Ignore my previous post, I got his position wrong but regardless, it's good to have new talent mixed with older talent.

What? Suzuki brought an apprentice of Miyazaki on board? That is just awesome!! I also really enjoyed yesterday's video with the architect and his attention to the smallest details. Looks like Suzuki managed to bring back the best people from the first two games and added some real new talent to the team.

It's going to be a long 2,5 years. :-o

The good thing is Kenji Itoso said in the video that Shenmue III is under development right now before the Kickstarter ends. The wait till Dec 2017 for Shenmue III will drive us all cuckooo. Haaa

I like that guy for some reason.

Like a younger Kojima.

Shenmue III team seems quite nice.

Someone has seen any of his work ?

They just added more rewards. Design your own capsule toy, be a chibi capsule toy and be a capsule toy that appears with some Shenmue characters. also put your name on an inn register for $600. I hope the last one doesn't push people away from the 1500 tier

Young prospect I see.
He needs to work harder on his character model skills but the movement looks fluid. YS has been hiring a lot of people with animation background. Hopefully he hires someone that is able to make a good transition between concept art models and 3D models. For example, Mortal Kombat usually has badass concept models but then they all horrible in the actual game.

Amazing that we have people working on the game that grew up playing it.

Also, this guy is really hot and is doing something to my insides.

I'm excited to see Itoso handle the animated scenes. The scenes in the new Attack of Titan look rather impressive a big step up at least from his animated works.
