S3 Online features?

Postby Ryno4 » Fri Jul 17, 2015 4:45 pm

Now as far as this game goes, it goes without saying that none of the budget will be put towards any kind of multiplayer.

But I was thinking about the possibility of leaderboards for mini games, so you can test yourself against friends, and against the rest of the Dojo.

Surely it wouldn't cost too much to do that, and I'd love to show everybody up with my mad skills on QTE.

No multiplayer, promised. But some "extremely easy to implement features" like trophies, mini game leaderboards and so on would be possible.

I hope they have something like the Passport disc offered in Shenmue. All the extra info, extra material, ridiculously detailed statistics and leaderboards. And the Free Market where you can trade capsule toys. This really has to make it in an expanded incarnation where you can trade with other players online, not just rare stuff with Oishi.

No multiplayer of any kind please.

I actually don't understand why fans demand access to online features and have the control to play darts against another human player over the internet. It sounds cool but not important. I think it would waste some oppurtunities to implement something better.

An online Free Battle or kung-fu tournament would have been fun though!

It would be fun having online features.
But considering the limited budget ysnet has available, it would be better to just focus on the core game, in my opinion.

Yeah playing online would be too much. Just a leaderboard would do.

But you are right, somebody would find a way to exploit it.

I suppose the high score of the day could get a special toy capsule or something

viewing leader boards and swapping capsule toys on-line would be great.

I completely agree. There are a lot of possibilities where online features could complement the existing gameplay - but I'd much rather the money be spent on making the single player experience as fleshed out as it can be.
