What if Shenmue 3 wasn't on PS4 and PC...

Dreamcasts are common as muck and cheap as chips. There's no way the console prices could sky rocket that much...

That said, since I own 4 Dreamcasts, I'm now kinda wishing this did happen if you guys would have been right

in light of, there's NO reason why other platforms (within IDEAL hardware environment) couldn't see this game.
it's a question of the devs using their (locked up tighter than the british tax system and free expression) source, and recompiling it to the os/chipset targeted.
it would be a co$t overhead, but fuckall that couldn't be attained....what? with all the money on s3 flying about.
no reason other/later platforms would have to miss out, and no doubt newer audiences would be drawn in.

I would love to have it for the dreamcast.
That's not a possibility though, so i would like the finishing game to have videos of the portions of the game they started to work on the dreamcast (if they even started development). Also i would love more videos of shenmue for saturn.

I would buy it, but I don't see the point of asking someone who is known for innovating to work on a several-generations-ago system. Wouldn't Yu actually want to take advantage of the new technology existing in 2015?

Yu Suzuki always wanted his game to look as realistic as possible so why purposely limit it by putting it on a console 2 generations behind?

It wouldn't have made sense, but as I still have my Dreamcast, I'd have supported it. The game may not have made its $2 mill goal though.

If it was all we could get, I would definitely still have backed it and would definitely still buy it.

However, after 14 years, while I'm not a graphics obsessed person, I do still want something that at least looks like it was made today instead of back then.

And it wouldn't be what was best for the game either, imo. I know the OP says to disregard financial concerns, but I can't really do that, try as I might, as any preference on my part also has to factor in the desire to see the game actually succeed.

If it was the only option, of course I'd still go for it, though. I don't think it would be a good idea, however.
