Ryuji Iuchi, composer on the previous Shenmue titles and Shenmue 3, tweeted that there are many unused tracks from Shenmue and Shenmue 2. He goes on to say that he will only compose new music when there are no matching, unused tracks left.

its makes perfect sense to use unused tracks that were originally designed for the newer areas, why compose more when its not needed? obviously he'll be needed for some new music, the rest we won't have heard "in game" so I have no problem with this.

Yeeeeeessssss!!! This is so awesome! This is fantastic news!

This will help ensure that S3 feels very Shenmue. A large part of the athmosphere has always been the music. For me, at least.

Also this will save Ys Net a lot of money as they don't have to compose a lot of new stuff. Maybe they could even just use the old recordings from the Sega archives, if they're high enough quality.

Damn it, the tracks in this video alone would make it one of the best video game scores ever and that's probably just a fraction of what Sega already have. I hope we'll see a lot of that in S3. Also, don't forget the "Lions something" track (forgot the exact name) from the Orchestra Soundtrack CD.

could'n't agree more, great news indeed. the second track in particular on the link you provided gives me chills, can just imagine some Guilin training montage in my head with that music

Didnt he say in one of the previous kick starter videos they had made 700 to 800 tracks for shenmue 1 and 2? There could be 100s of left over songs to choose from, hopefully that means less work on new tracks and maybe a little re working of old ones.

I have listened to that new unused piece we got during the KS non stop. I absolutely adore it! No complaints here, use all the unused pieces you want!

The kickstarter theme and the music in the Ali video sounded amazing to me. If there's more unused tracks like that, im more than happy.

It's been the music that's got be the most excited from all of the media released. It will take time to get used to Shenmue on a new engine, but the music will still be within the same paramaters of the first two games which more than helps with that.

I'm pumped!
