Nothing particularly new there for us hardcore fans, but very interesting to know there was no work on Shenmue III previously. What was Yu doing from release of Shenmue II DC to Shenmue II Xbox? I'm guessing working on Virtua Fighter 4? It's weird but looking back, even after completing Shenmue II on Dreamcast back in December 2001 it seemed like we'd have to wait a while for a third, what with the news of the Dreamcast's death (though that didn't stop me buying an Xbox in the hopes the third would come out for that console...).

Hopefully this interview brings in a few more PayPal backers and buyers of the game :)

Interesting article (Games) but nothing exclusively new to be honest.

That said, there are a few aspects of the article which makes me more confused than I was before reading it.

Q: "Will arcades comes back"?
A: "It will depend on the budget"

I naively thought that arcades were confirmed in S3 but which ones would be back was still unconfirmed?

Then the statements from "Games" about the area of Choubu and Bailu not beeing funded sounds confusing as well.
In my understanding, those area will be in S3 but not in their fully "extended" form, at least not without more funding.
Can someone confirm their presence... I'm starting to sweat :|

(either there's a hidden staffer dicking with responses and editing them without indications, or i'm losing my shit?! :-k usually, there's a timestamp AFTER another user posts, and the prior post is edited.)
thanks a lot for these.
there's no way my scanner can get those results...:P

Arcades aren't confirmed yet.

Choubu and Bailu are in the game (Bailu is where you start off, then I think you go to Choubu and Baisha). They just aren't as fleshed out as they would be if those stretch goals are met. Hopefully we hit a few Choubu stretch goals in the PayPal.

Thank you for your answer Amir.

My understanding about Choubu and Bailu areas was correct then, pfffiuuu.
The article from Games is misleading under some aspects...

I really hope at least one or two arcade games are gonna make it in Shenmue III. I don't care which one(s) as far as they make it! What would be a Shenmue game without arcades?

Promoting this as an "interview" was really misleading but it's still great to see Shenmue get 4 pages of talks with so few information and without adding controversy, thanks to them.

I found the Yu's line about the fight system the most interesting. It's funny because he still refuses to pronounce ever the words "Virtua Fighter".

Don't really mind there's not a lot of new information as these two articles do a great job of promoting the series.
