Famitsu this week confirms a number of new characters set to appear in Project X Zone 2, including the leaked characters from the Korean version of the game.

You say that but look here:
Notice Shinobi being moved to the side more to make room for Morrigan? They just keep adding more characters to the roster, that's all.

This says, Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue has been confirmed in a screenshot from the Korean version of Project X Zone 2.. If it's not on the official Japanese cover art, it may have been added later. There are a number of different variations on the cover art around and Ryo isn't the only one who has been added or replaced.

At this point I'm inclined to believe that the image has been photoshopped. The extra characters, in comparison to the box art, makes the whole image seem a little overcrowded, oddly spaced out. If we could see some actually in game screenshots featuring Ryo Hazuki sprites then that would be a different story. As it stands, as much as I'd like Ryo to be in the game, I don't think this is real image.
Even so, there are still plenty of awesome Sega characters in the game. Including Segata Sanshiro!

Well, it could mean SEGA is surfing the Shenmue momentum (as for the Shenmue merchandising seen lately) but does this mean anything else? I really hop so, but who knows with SEGA.

It would be exciting to see Ryo in PXZ2! Furthermore, it would be a boost on Shenmue's popularization, an action which is positive by itself.

For years most rumors have been no more than smoke, but this year apparently is the year of Shenmue.
By the way this is likely to be genuine as it appears that the source of the screenshots comes directly from Namco-Bandai Korea, being that the game will be launched there this December.
