They've only shown the prologue area, an area of the game we already have seen before but looking fabulous in UE4. Conveniently we can avoid spoilers. Some other screenshots show those world heritage buildings but that's about it.

There's so much to do. It's a small team, working very hard on the game no doubt. Game play systems need to be created and all the story translated into cinematics. I can easily see the game being released in 2018.

Hell a 2D game I backed on Kickstarter called Hyper Light Drifter is 2 years delayed! But the game is looking on track to release this year and I have been receiving plenty of questionaires to confirm my game order preferences. HLD started development in 2013 with a promise of 2014 release.

I don´t have a problem, if they release Shenmue III in 2018. I have a problem, if Shenmue III isn´t a good game.

I'm guessing the boat will be the one either to or from Choubu, would be interesting if

that will be where the Chai fight takes place to make up for the loss of the boat chapter between Shenmue 1 and 2

This would be very, very cool.

As for a potential delay, hopefully the continued crowdfunding might allow for the game to spend a little bit more time in the oven.

About the delay, two things can take a lot of time in development:
- adding features and content
- making use of the AMD's 7 cores (very useful for AI and NPCs realism)

Considering his past, I can see Yu being ambitious for both.

Sorry to go back a bit, to the journal du japon interview, but from trying to understand what Heishunken and Hanken stands for in Chinese, the closest I got to are 七星拳 and 佛汉拳，which are both shaolin styles.
