I mean, being the most funded game on Kickstarter seems to mean nothing, Sony drops millions every year for sub par games like the order or killzone. You'd think they would get behind this Project 100%. The fans have proved the demand for the product already.

Now what i fear the most is that shenmue 3 will be a stain on the masterpieces that were shenmue 1 and 2.

Now what i fear the most is that shenmue 3 will be a stain on the masterpieces that were shenmue 1 and 2.

Nobody knows exactly how deep Sony is financially involved in Shenmue 3 and to what extent the are prevented from beeing more involved (IP is still in SEGA's hands).
What we do know for fact is that the deal with Sony involves primarily the PS4 version with tech support, advertising and distribution support, etc...

There is a gray area surrounding the PC version. Who's the Publisher of this version?
And what's the deal in between this publisher and YsNet/Shibuya?
Call me crazy, but I see the shadow of Sega behind the PC version. The lack at the moment of PC version in the Paypal rewards strengthens this feeling.
It would make sense assuming the PC digital version will be released on Steam... especially if someday before Shenmue 3 comes out, Sega release Shenmue HD for PC on Steam too.

It's 2015, and we're all alive, and Shenmue 3 is a real thing that's going to happen. Cheer up, guys. Nothing will tarnish the legacy of Shenmue 1 & 2 (more than it already was by poor sales,) and this time last year we thought Shenmue 3 was a pipe dream. We're better off than we were last year, yet we seem less happy instead of more. I know it can be frustrating, but I think we need to take a step back and be appreciative of what we have. 15 years is a long time. Some of us aren't even around anymore.

Those of us who are... let's try to be happy with this. I share your frustration, don't get me wrong. But I think sometimes we focus on it to the exclusion of any sort of joy. And that's maybe not the best thing to do for ourselves and each other, you know? Just thinking in text form while sleep deprived, don't mind me.
