great interview.
i'm glad that he is attempting to include the option to pick up and examine objects like in the previous games.

i was hoping for a response about whether there would be loading screens between areas and interiors and about the use of music. its probably too early for him to say really. really looking forward to those new screens next week.

he confirmed that the player will be able to view the sun rise and sun set, so the use of a curfew might be different.
thanks David.

A lot of good questions here. The one about the Dobuita size was great. A lot of people think that when he says Dobuita, he meant Yamanose, Sakuragaoka, as well as Dobuita.

Baisha is more like the harbor, no?

Amazing interview, David! The bit about ragdoll physics was really interesting. I knew I could trust Yu to want to implement them as realistically as possible.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this! The bits about the battle system are really exiting. I really hope these features will find their way into the game, may it be by reaching the goal or by Yu Suzuki just pushing on to deliver them.

Thanks David!

That AI Battling makes a lot of sense, even more so when you consider Ryo is a seasoned martial art student (espically by now). So like while he pulls off the same punch as inputted, his training (the AI) fills in the gap? Check out the Dualshockers vid- Jumping off walls! Seriously!? =P~

Along with the High Ground Battle system, I think we're all reminded of this classic parody:

On a scale of 1-10, how spoilerific is the spoiler? (still haven't clicked on on it yet)

2/10

It's about the number and the name of the main bosses of the game. And we learnt nothing (as long as you followed the interviews at the E3). The today's Dualshocker interview releases the same info but did not use a spoiler on their side. I'm still grateful to David for having taken no risk for all the fans.

welp, i clicked the spoiler...

Considering that
suzuki is still not planning to end the story with 3, im shocked that we will fight Lan Di in this one, it kinda shows that the story evolves more than just a vs revenge story, oh giddy imma excite!!

i highly doubt the revenge arc ends in shenmue 3. this is probably just a preliminary fight where Ryo tastes the true difficulty of his task. he survives (or is saved) but vows to become stronger. the true battle will be in shen 4 or 5, imo.

Yup.
I wonder if this fight was included in this game to satiate fans who have waited to battle Lan Di for so long, but I can also see it being planned years in advance (having just one fight with him would be dramatically anticlimactic).
