I'm very surprised that the screenshots looks so pretty good.

Baisha is supposedly home to the Chi Yu Men's stronghold, so I wonder if that whole area is maybe infiltration and attacking rather than standard Shenmue gameplay?

Warehouse No. 8 all over again ;-)

Hahaha. I see it more like running the lights in Shenmue II, but a bit speedier with more player agency and encouragement over whether you want to attack or not instead of the win(sneak)/fail(fight) dynamic. I like the sound of it a lot though.

Man, that was way more Metal Gear Solid than sneaking into Warehouse No. 8, come to think of it. Even had the bird's-eye view and everything :)

Argh! Those lights! I'm sure they used to catch me even when I was safely across them sometimes

I had the same experience. I guess they didn't spend a whole lot of QA time on that part.

Speaking of a bird's eye view, check out this Mayan temple of quotes!

Does anyone else wonder if we will learn more about this photo in Shenmue 3? I read that on the back of the photo there are kanji that translates to "At Bailu Village".

i just watched an anime called ‘Ninja Scroll’ and it features a character called Zakuro. She is one of the 8 bosses that make up ‘The Devils of Kimon’.

As you can see her character design is similar to Niao Sun, so this film may have been an influence. The anime is really great, i highly recommend it.

you can watch the whole thing on youtube:

They're plenty of enigmatic and pretty violent animes like this in 90's that were only released on VHS in United States I believe. I've always been intrigued by them. Time to get in.

So Yu-san says he's aiming for between 150-200 NPCs in the game. How many were in the first game again?

Considering the more remote village-based locations, it would be quite strange if Shenmue III had as many NPCs as the previous games in more urban settings.

Despite the Cédric's statement, I can't imagine YS not writing a database with one description for one NPC. Shenmue will not be the same without its official guide book. I don't expect a paper book, an online one would be fine, or even better an ingame one.

Ah... Friday! Time for some weird thought, so please forgive me

Yesterday night I had a hard time falling asleep, so I started to think about Shenmue 3, Shenmue HD, characters, etc...

We didn't see any new character model since the E3 trailer, but we know Yu Suzuki wants to improve them and make them as similar as possible compared to Shenmue 1/2 models.

Now, IF by some miracle Sega finally decides to announce Shenmue HD, wouldn't you love to have the exact same model of Ryo for the remasters AND Shenmue 3?
Here is my point and hope(crazy one, ok):

YsNet could show new models at the same time as Sega makes the Shenmue HD announcement...

Image
In the light of what I wrote above, this is the best teaser screenshot ever :king:

(Back on Earth, I know YsNet is simply focusing on more important aspects of the development.)

In your opinion, did Cédric Biscay say too much this time?

Image

Q: Why not launch a crowdfunding for the Xbox One version? It's a shame to do without 20 million of players.

A: The PS4 has console exclusivity.

Q: Did Sony buy the exclusivity? The Kickstarter FAQ's says Xbox One version is not impossible.

If true/confirmed, what could a strong Sony PS4 exclusivity mean for the future (and the past) of the Shenmue franchise?

Woah, while it's sad that the xbox won't get a port, this could lead to greater news of Sony providing more funding to the game in exchange for console exclusivity!

I'm optimistic about this, and this is coming from someone who only has an xbone too! XD
