(April Fools) Project Update #55: Shenmue 3 by Ys Net

In this month’s update, we are happy to announce some changes to Ryo Hazuki’s model, changes to the logo and clarification to Sony’s involvement in the funding of Shenmue III.

As you can see, we’ve made many significant improvements. The first thing you might notice is the new eye texture. Shenmue I and II were very depressing games and we wanted to take Shenmue III in a new direction and make it a happier and more positive game. To achieve this, we’ve replaced Ryo’s cold staring eyes with brand new super happy eyes. We feel that this gives much more of a positive and happy vibe.
The next thing you might notice is the purple lipstick. We don’t have any information regarding this to share at this time.
If you look at Ryo’s shirt, you may notice that it is no longer plain white as shown in pervious iterations of the model. During the Kickstarter campaign, the social media website Twitter was vital. Backers and fans worldwide took to it to spread the good Shenmue word. We’d like to pay homage to that and to do so, we’ve included the iconic Twitter phrase #YOLOSWAG on Ryo’s shirt.
As for Sony’s involvement with funding, we can now reveal that we have secured a sponsorship deal! As you can see from the image above, Sony are now sponsoring the bandage on Ryo’s face.
And finally, we are pleased to announce some long awaited changes to the logo font. Many of you have voiced distaste in the Papyrus font and we hear you loud and clear. We’ve taken your feedback very seriously and used it to craft a new, improved logo that we think you’re going to love. We present to you, the new Shenmue logo:
Oh and also, Shenmue III is cancelled.
