If they're on schedule with the development, then we should see something substantial next spring or E3 the latest. That is, if they want to show a product that's more or less close to a finished one for promotional purposes. That's just how it goes in gamedev, right?

Nah, I think if that was the case Cedric wouldn't have dropped a month. A big December update seems appropriate seeing how Q1 of 2017 is when the early demo is supposed to appear.

It's possible. More possible than last year surely lol. But I sort of think they won't show anything significant beyond keeping it in the public imagination to some small extent, until E3 2017. That's when we should see the hype machine begin to roll out... if it has any hope of making it in time for Holiday 2017. Which I'm totally cool with them missing if necessary. I want them to take absolutely as long as they need to.

Does any of the text actually indicate that the Shenmue pin is larger? Or are all of the pins physically the same size and they decided to show Shenmue as larger because they had extra room on the flyer to promote it more?

Your suspicion is correct - the fine print confirms they are all 55mm.

Guess Ryo drew the short straw to demonstrate the badge's actual size on the brochure.

Ahh I see! Thanks for that, the way they presented all the badges and putting 55mm under the Shenmue badge made it seem like that was a larger size! Oh well!

Company's private visit it seems. The tweet comes from the YSnet's account, the first time since E3 2015.

I'm not really following the schedule for TGS mainly because it's happening whilst i'm working. At what part of the event / show would we even be expecting anything? Playstation conference has passed...is there anything in particular happening where Yu might show up?

We're not expecting anything re: Shenmue. Yu has turned up, but with a guest pass, and Cedric has said no big info before December. December is also when the LA dinner will happen (after being postponed from around E3 time in June), so I believe we will see something at the Playstation event that month.

Pretty encouraging, but we'll wait and see.

It's going to be interesting to watch the Kickstarter updates skirt around any preparation for a public display of the game.
