Shenmue Dojo

I'm curious - how will the Shenmue Dojo community split up between the two platforms Shenmue III is gonna be available on?

I'm going with PS4. Had it way before Shenmue III was announced, and it's the only thing I'm playing games on, so I'm happy that Sony turned out to be the ones to finally decide to push the game. What's your preference?

PC; in 4K native or downsampled, depending on whether I get a new TV and graphics card between now and release.

I'm just gonna watch a let's play on youtube.

I can't understand why people actually bother playing games these days when you can just sit back and watch a nice let's play.

The PS4 that I'll be buying with a copy of the game on release day.

You should watch Giant Bomb's playthrough, seeing how they're such big fans of the series and will surely have some great incite.

I've waited this long. I don't need to play it right away.

I'm buying it together with the console to boost its attach rate, in my own small way. If enough people happen to do the same, it will increase Shenmue's value in the eyes of Sony.

I pledged for a physical PS4 copy, but that was long before I decided to make the jump to PC, so I'll purchase the game on Steam (I don't mind paying for the game again - I want to support it as much as possible) and keep my PS4 copy sealed

We already had a poll on this a over a year ago.

But let me repeat what I said there. Just gotta ad, that I have pledged for the PS4 version and got someone to pledge for the PC version for me.

I'll definately get both and I'll probably end up playing the PC version more, with it possibly looking slightly better, higher framerate, mods and everything but my heart and vote go out to the PS4 version. Shenmue is a console game. Sorry but I just cannot get over that.

^ Ohh yeah, I remember.. oops. Would have been strange if there hadn't already been at least one topic of this kind I guess. Oh well, maybe we can consider this the 2016 update then. Seems to be more evened out between PC and PS4 this time, so far at least.

I also pledged for physical PS4, but will keep it sealed and get it digitally when it comes out.

I'll be on PS4. I'm really hoping that Sony just makes PS4 their last system and have iterations that are fully backward compatible with one another. That would make any potential Shenmue IV, on PS4 as well. Then if Shenmue HD Collection comes out, then PS4 and PC will become the two platforms where you can play the entire series in one place. One can hope right?

I'm impressed by the 50/50 split thus far.

Have they actually ever said whether or not this game will be available at retail?
