Looks like the old paper-rock-scissors game in action here - Peter, what was that about? (And who won? :))

I'm guessing it was a quiz, asking "How many Shenmue games have there been so far," with some disagreement over whether What's, Online, and Gai all count.

Well, considering there are people at this dinner who spent a small fortune on the Shenmue 3 project, mainly based on the trust they have in Suszuki San and their love for the Shenmue franchise, I believe it's fair to show to every backer that they care about us and want to fulfill their commitment regarding the rewards.

There's probably a good reason why they didn't show anything else.
They probably just need more time to polish what they are working on before showing the project status.
PSX is only 2 month away. I'm okay with them withholding new stuff if that means a major "wow factor" when they'll decide to unveil them.

For what it's worth I really like this update. It's nice to see people having a good time as they talk about and celebrate Shenmue 3. Especially since this dinner is really a high-tier backer reward, for the Kickstarter campaign, without which none of this would have been possible. So don't stress about this update and just enjoy the moment, there's still many long months ahead before Shenmue 3 is ready for release.

^ This. Team "favourite update so far" here! :D

Makes me look forward to December even more. Imagine possibly getting the first real Shenmue III trailer at the beginning of the month, followed by a heartwarming report of the LA dinner around christmas.. exciting times, and finally great times to be a Shenmue fan again, with all those years of waiting actually paying off.

Perfectly happy with this update, especially given what little snippets of information we've been given by Peter and Adam. I feel their reaction image to whatever Yu had to show them is going to get some mileage, hahaha.

December draws closer. *rubs hands*

I'm absolutely fine with this update. It's a feel good victory update not only for the rest of us, but especially the backers who spent a small fortune to help get this game off the ground in this series we cherish so much. In a way it's also another sneak peak at Shenmue III's maiden gameplay reveal. The past few updates have been updates that show the hard love and passion they've been putting into the game, this update contains a picture of the first backers to see the real Shenmue III. There's mystery and intrigue to this games reveal. And excitement too! And I think this update continues that theme.

Eureka! I think this solves the mystery behind the Rock-Paper-Scissors game - playing to decide who gets what signed illustration, as part of the reward package.

The less of the game we see now, the more of an impact that initial trailer is going to have. Fingers crossed for PSX. Nice update, and my thanks to all these generous backers.
