The combat, seeing where the story goes, and the sheer joy of walking around new environments in the Shenmue universe.

Well, actually that is a very easy question. The answer is: everything.

But I'll try to point out some things I especially look forward to.

1. Finally (finally!) getting out of that cave.
2. Seeing the story progress.
3. New Shenmue environments.
4. The music.
5. The characters. Seeing some of my favorite video game characters of all time again. Ryo, Shenhua, Ren, Lan Di, Xiuying. And finally getting to know some new characters: Niao Sun, Ming Ming, maybe Tentei.

Man I have to stop writing. Can't wait for S3 to come out.

I was on a long drive the other day and it's one of those things that just hits me at random, we're going to get out of that damn cave, finally! It's almost surreal still and I think it may be all the way up until I pop the disc in.

The thing I'm most looking forward to - though as for whether it's actually going to happen is currently unknown - is finding out more about the four leaders of the Chi You Men as well as the illustrious Tentei. I'm a sucker for backstory and the very core of everything in a plot/story, and I think this aspect is one of the most intriguing, mysterious, and interesting.

In terms of gameplay, I'm really interested in the new fighting and QTE systems.

Not to sound morbid, but I very much second this. It's so strange... I've started looking twice before I cross the street and stuff like that. I know it's not exactly a healthy frame of mind, but it would just be my luck to finally make it this far and give so much of my life to Shenmue for something bad to happen right before release. I'm going to hell anyways which is bad enough, but if I get down there before Shenmue 3 then they will have to redefine the concept because I will fucking wreck the place.

The feeling of entering into a completely fresh Shenmue experience after all these years. [-o<

All this talk about trying to be alive for when Shenmue III releases...

Maybe I should see my GP more often!

Roaming, and being bound by time as I go about the day as we get to nightfall and beyond.

Lush colours too!

I echo this sentiment as well, especially in remembrance of those we sadly lost (e.g. Reuben Kee and Roger Swan).

In terms of what I look forward to, in some ways it's already been achieved, in that we have developed a friendship with Suzuki-san and others involved through the KS campaign, that is very rare in the gaming industry. To be able to help him to achieve his dream when the game comes out will probably be my greatest joy.

You'll still be allowed the option to download the PC version, but only over a 14.4k modem with a two-hour connection limit.

It's already said but it's one of my concerns too, the logical step from Shenmue 2 to Shenmue 3 as if time never had passed. It's difficult to explain, fifteen years has passed and technology has improved so the first time we play Shenmue 3 it'll be grafically improved but I hope the style, the esence, the shenmue feel remain the same!

While not on a 14.4k modem, I did download Shenmue 2 on a 56.6k modem with a four-hour connection limit. I recall the whole game being about 1.8 GB. It took forever - but seemed the only way that I'd get to experience it.
