virtua fighter characters in shenmue 3?

hey guys do you think there is a posibility to see virtua fighter characters in shenmue 3 or beyond? i know that shenmue started as a virtua fighter rpg but in the development turn to be something difference...but for a long time i thought lan di was lau chan(a virtua fighter character)who has similar fighting style until i saw 2 years ago the chapter concert art that presented at gdc 2014 and if you look at picture number 4 it shows both lan di and lau chan....? so probably Ryo is gonna meet him in the future games whats your opinion?

I think the licencing might be a bit weird to work out. Although, SEGA has granted the VF licence to Yu in the past so maybe not.

We can probably expect VF capsule toys, but VF references in Shenmue have been nods and winks to its origins as VFRPG rather than explicitly setting them in the same universe.

I don't think so. But I'd love to see some Shenmue characters in the next Virtua Fighter (should they ever make one) or Dead or Alive game. I remember the director or someone else from the DoA5 team voicing his interest in adding Ryo Hazuki to the roster. Sadly nothing ever came of that.

I always hoped they'd retcon Akira into being Ryo... Like, at the end of Shenmue 5, something happens and Ryo decides to take up another name... Akira!

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, I know. But it would be surprising twist.

If SEGA is actually letting Ys net use the Shenmue license, I hope they are doing it with everything it implies, and this means VF, Sonic, and other Sega related trademarks appearing in the game.

shenmue wouldn't be halve it was if it wasn't for all it's sega tributes throughout the game. my god the whole game was one big tribute to sega. Loved it!

I'd rather not see any VF characters in Shenmue because Virtua Fighter has got its own interesting storyline with the evil J6, Dural and multiple character sidestories. The VF references in Shenmue 1/2(be it similar VF moves or fighting styles) were more than adequate. Thank you very much
