The temple shot oozes Shenmue atmosphere to me for some reason even though we haven't been to a location like that ever. The Chai preview is great and I don't even like Chai.

I like the battle shot. Look at the photos on the right side. we need to CSI those photos Spags.

I like the third shot a lot. The grass, the shoes, the toys. It has that feeling of Shenmue homeliness that's about calm and laid back in pace. I'm curious about that mini game. Third shot is my favorite because it has the easy going Shenmue feel.

Really? I thought it was really obvious that it was the set up for a mini-game, though no idea actually what kind of game it is. The forklift looked a bit big for a capsule toy too.

I know the screen doesn't imply it, but it'd be pretty cool if forklift racing came back in the form of RC car-style races around a small track.

Oh, I've been doing plenty of CSIing since the shots broke... I can't divine much from the battle shot because of the shallow depth of field, but I did notice they've reused the table and stool model from Shenhua's house.

There may be a few objects from Shenmue/Shenmue II in there too, or they might just be low-res placeholders. Either way, the amount of objects with possible physics interactions indicates to me they've decided to throw the "Higher Ground Battle System" in despite not hitting the stretch goal.

My guess is that the board is some kind of beanbag toss:

Although, I'm not too sure where the forklift fits into that. A prize perhaps?

I think you have to drive the remote control forklift up the board and see how high you can get without driving over the end.

You might be onto something.

Maybe the forklift flings the beanbag?

That would definitely be cool! I was thinking that it might act as a holder for the beanbags.

Anyone know what the writing on the forklift means?

I'm pretty glad with this update! I didn't expect a trailer after what Suzuki said to famitsu that new trailers would come early next year so a few pics it's ok.

This pics makes me feel that it will be a great game, you can see that Shenmue feel even if there a lot of placeholders like those two enemies, the photoshopped Ryo's face, etc.

I'm not worried about graphics yet, they must travel a long way until the release of the game and they will improve graphics. They have been testing as Suzuki said.

I liked a lot Suzuki's sentence, he lives for Shenmue right now!

This definitely sheds new light on the 'random' Halloween picture.

Edit

I thought the pose looked familiar...

Great update!!!

At first sight, I was a bit "scared" by the new screens, but now that I've seen the full resolution images, I'm kind of relieved and happy with the artistic direction.

The Temple one is really beautiful. I love the lightning and how naturally nocturnal it feels.

The market fight was a "meh" at first, probably because Ryo's face was a little off (and we know why now). At least it proves that Yu San wants to bring back the Ryo's look we all love, even if they are not ready yet to show it.
What I like in this market screen is in the details and my imagination is already flying through the roof when I think about the fight scene... with Shenmue music.

The mini forklift screen looks like some gift from Yu to us and in my opinion is definitely a scene intended to show us a mini-game preview.

100% why I think this screen has the most promise of them all, despite some visual placeholders. I always thought what a FREE Battle in the Stand Quarter or White Dynasty Quarter would look like in Shenmue II, now it seems we're getting something kind of like that.

Finally a decent update again. I really dig the look of the game, or at least of what they've shown us.
It's still not really game footage but the attention to detail and overall design is just lovely.

I have this music in my head when I see that second screen:
