Pick where Deep Silver sends Yu Suzuki & Shenmue 3 in 2018

Postby mjq jazz bar » Mon Aug 28, 2017 11:50 am

As summarized by Team Yu:

After a huge turnout from both the press and public visitors at Gamescom, the head of Shenmue 3 publisher Deep Silver wants to know where they should bring the game's director Yu Suzuki next.

According to the votes cast so far, it's looking good for Paris Games Week, but Japan Expo is also in the running and other suggestions are welcomed. To voice your opinion, respond to Olivier Comte's tweet here:

I had the knee-jerk reaction of "let him stay in Japan to work", but realised that was pretty unfair considering the insane hours Yu has been pulling since 2015.

Do feel sorry for the rest of the team having to keep working instead of taking a vacation, but I have a feeling they don't stay at the dev studio for as long as Yu considering we know quite a few are contract workers.

This bodes well for Shenmue III, to keep it in the public eye in a certain capacity by having honest interviews with the creator himself, similar to Igarashi speaking to backers for Bloodstained.

We may not get updated footage for a good while, but we'll be kept space of how expanded the project has become and current development status.

I like that the head of Deep Silver is asking and involved. They have tons to gain from being fully committed to a big franchise like Shenmue.

Hmmm, well if they skip PSX altogether then i guess a reveal of Shenmue HD by Sony would be out the window since it would be sensible to show them both together.

Yeah, it's pretty exciting and hopefully speaks to the level of extra investment DS are bringing to the project.

Isn't it too soon to make another presentation again of Shenmue 3? They have already showed a 'half baked' video and Paris show is in October, little time to make a good trailer so that they are not criticise again.

In my opinion they should leave Suzuki alone working in his magnus opus.

On the other hand, in always eager to see or read anything Shenmue related so I'm cool with that.

That's a point.

Japan Expo 2017 has already come and gone so at least one of these is for 2018. Likely both are, but I guess we need confirmation to say for sure.

Would be great to show teaser 2 at Sony's Event at Paris Games Week.

Teaser 2 can be the same exact teaser as 1 but with facial animations, cursive font, and less weird logo cut-ins and I'd be happy.

They are making a poll for... 2018 events!

PSX 2017 isn't out of the window after all! :)
