worries about the physical edition of shenmue 3

the thing is with it that it may come on time or too late. or it may come never at all. are we not better off if we just get the digital edition? i mean surely a digital edition will be sent by email right?

it would be really messed up if everuone is playing and spoiling and u be waiting weeks. u do know ill be buying the game if it doesnt come on time.

i allready regeret subscribing to this forum. yesterday i preordered shenmue 3 trough paypal. the digital version.
I am not a ks funder. a latecomer to be exact. and im worried that also the digitial key is sent trough real mail(not email) this is ofcourse a worrysome thing cause the people that didnt fund can basically buy the game or key and redeem it instantly.
no i am not shenmue legend whoever that is. but im interested in why i would be him. has it to do with my sig? by the way i am not native speaker so forgive my grammar

I personally don't think creating physical copies is too much of a hassle for YSnet. What could be a hassle is the higher tiers like the collector's edition I picked.
Furthermore, there would be uproar if they sent people digital copies before physical ones; I highly doubt that will happen. When they release Shenmue III, they have to meet the backers' rewards otherwise there will be severe backlash, which could affect how well it reviews.

What videogame companies tend to do on physical pre orders is send it the day before with 24 hour post. I've never had a pre order come late. Super Mario Maker, TLoZ BotW, DooM 2016. They all came on the correct dates.
They'll have the copies ready in offices around the world ready to be sent off, I imagine. UK, different states in the US, Japan, China, Germany, other major countries (not going to list them all).
Should arrive the same day as the digital key is sent.

I'm not worried. I'll simply stay off the internet or avoid threads that have to do with Shenmue once it releases until I've beat it. I'm just happy they allowed physical versions in the first place as they could have easily put that by the wayside.

If you preordered the physical version on Kickstarter/Paypal you'll always be able preorder the digital version on top of that through PSN as soon as it's on there. The PS4 will automatically start the download as soon as the game becomes available so you'll be sure to play the game on the very first day.
I don't know much about PC gaming but I'm pretty sure Steam has a similar preorder mechanic in place.

Like Hyo Razuki said. You'll be able to download the game on PSN or I'm guessing Steam.
Like you I was worried about my copy not arriving and not being able to play the game so I did a back up plan and brought both versions. Physical and digital with two different accounts.
If you have already bought a digital version then I wouldn't worry, your physical version will probably come on the same day too.

There's a setting in your preferences to turn off all signatures. Unfortunately it hides the tasteful, well-designed signatures as well as the annoying ones. Fortunately no one on here has a tasteful, well-designed signature, so I'm missing nothing.
