Considering what we saw of the magic stuff this game is a loooong way from being finished. Summer 2019 I would suggest.

The MAGIC footage we saw is very outdated and it is likely not indicative of the current state of the project.
That being said, I do agree that a delay is likely but I just don't think that we should be paying that extended trailer much attention when using it to judge how far along things are.

Yes. It can miss this year. Shenmue fans are so weird.

First its

"If I have to get a continuation of Shenmue in a novel, I am okay with that"

Or

"I'll take a movie if I have to!"

Then its

"I'll even take it in a telltale style game"

And

"Make a kickstarter, I don't care how it looks or how long it takes"

yet wow, less than 4 years and people are getting so fragile.

Game development takes time. If its not out by the end of 2020, then worry, til then its such so silly to complain.

To be fair, I think people are just afraid of more delays because it's usually what happens to failed Kickstarter projects. Yu is more than a seasoned game creator, so I don't think many expect him to miss the mark regarding schedules, even if he is sort of a perfectionist. Last time you could easily understand why one would take more time - the amount of content expanded, and the team was learning the ropes with UE4. But what would the excuse be now? What else didn't they anticipate?

I wouldn't say it "can't" miss this year - it certainly could. But I can't blame fans for getting suspicious or anxious about it being delayed another year, no matter how long they've waited on this.
