Yu Suzuki: "With the area Baisha, we want to include new fun not included in Shenmue 2. Traditional tactics such as seige and infiltration that we see in warring kingdoms in traditional China are also added. But I want to make it Shenmue-like, easy to grasp, easy to play, and provide more fun.

What are your thoughts on this? What do you think it will be like? Have not seen much discussion. Obviously there isn't a ton to discuss, but it intrigues me. I've dumped HOURS into Yakuza Zero's mini games, so I hope Ys Net can pull off something similarly engrossing. A well-executed side/mini game can add hours of fun to an already brilliant game. I wonder if this is a one-off section, or an entire game unto itself (like the cabaret or real estate games in Y0).

This concept of siege and infiltration remind me of the "Bokko" manga.
(it's based on a novel and may have been the basis for a film if I remember well.)
The manga was about a man that was trying/tasked to defend cities in China,
a little before the 1st emperor united China.
There was a lot about keeping the cohesion of the city and avoiding break downs among people.

So I started picturing this kind of thing in Shenmue as well :
>Balance in citizen relationships being a factor
>Understanding the organization of the city and planning with it in mind.

The only thing is that i'm not sure if there will be an alternating between defending/attacking cities,
or if it is planned for being only attacking or defending.

If we have Ryo in the role of defense strategist, it may be interesting.
Breaking into cities may also be what's in store for SH3 and could be as epic.

I think it will be Seven Samurai style. Like Ryo, Shenhua, Ren and a handful of other people maybe, trying to defend Baisha town. Maybe also Ryo trying to secretely infiltrate the enemy's camp, like the samurai do in the film.

I think those seiges will be in the past, not necessarily time travel, but maybe playable memories of Shenhua's ancestors. We did get a flashback from her that seemed in the distant past.

I'm not expecting this game to be as packed with content as a typical Yakuza entry, but I hope the mini games/fighting are accessible outside the main story. A nice tournament mode would be a lot of fun. Hopefully this siege stuff is good enough to stand on its own as well.

I actually think the Yakuza games have a little too much side stuff. 100%ing those games isn't even fun.

Yep that scene where they name her Shenhua def feels like some long time ago.

However, I believe in an interview, Yu-san stated this will be a quest to break into the Chi You Men base to rescue either Shenhua Parents or her stepdad (i think there was a translation error when he said her ""parents"")
