No Shenmue the movie is from Shenmue 1. I guess you thought it was the whole story. It has nothing to do with Shenmue 3.

Yeah, SHenmue 1 is around an hour recap of the first game, to get you set for Shenmue II if you hadn't played the first, but who would do such an evil thing..? :-)~

There was a Shenmue movie version with real actors and stuff right? Any idea where you could still get a hold on a DVD or VHS of that movie?

Hmm. Not sure - I think there might have been something done in Hong Kong, but I really don't believe it was sanctioned by SEGA or had more than a passing resemblance to actual Shenmue. Unless you mean the Gang Edition of course, links to which are available at the Dojo under Fan Art. I've never seen it with sound on, so I need to get that sorted. But it's evidently very funny. Lead guy looks more like me (ie quite chubby with thick curly hair) than Ryo!

No. There's no real-life filmed movie. You're probably just getting mixed up with the fact that the actions in the game were motion captured. Or the Sonic Team prank that they played.

i love shenmue, but if i never played shenmue and saw that movie, i would take the game back to the store and say it was broken and get a refund.
