Amazon is like 44% of e-commerce sales in the US. I don't even need to check to know that's likely the highest market share any single retailer has.

Still, it's impossible for us to divine some real numbers outta this, but if it's consistently doing well on Amazon's best sellers list that's great news. I mean, the PS4 version is hanging next to the fastest selling exclusive on that console in the US best seller's chart for PS4 games. That list gets updated hourly. Its got legs for sure.

Yeah, not to mention that a good amount of buyers in the US are likely using the bestbuy gamerclub scheme to purchase this, even though amazon now has the 20% off atm, I can see a lot of people buying things in bulk to get more points, the same way I assume many in the UK are using sites like base.com because they show up as the cheapest on all these compare/frugal websites.

Despite all of that, the staying power on amazon globally is really impressive!

Mayhaps they are going to have a tough time keeping this a limited release with this much fervor.

Shenmue I & II still holding strong as the #2 best selling PS4 game on US Amazon.

#2 on the Canadian chart too.

(European Amazons seem to have a specialised pre-order section, and sometimes do/don't include the game in PS4 best seller games charts.)

Didn't make the pre-order chart, but is #14 on the UK chart for best selling PS4 games.

#1 pre-ordered game on Amazon France, Shenmue III at #5 too.

#2 pre-ordered game on Amazon Spain, beaten only by Red Dead Redemption 2.

I wonder why people are preordering III through Amazon; doesn't it cost more than on the Slacker Backer? Maybe they don't know about shenmue.link/order.

Yeah, that's likely.

Potentially bodes well for III regardless. It's not available to pre-order on Amazon in most regions yet, but getting to #5 on Amazon France is quite an achievement considering how much there still is to show of the game.

I would buy a steelbook edition without hesitation and I generally don't do collector's editions anymore.

I really hope they reconsider an Limited Edition. A steelbook with a soundtrack for both games, plus the bonus poster would be sufficient enough I think. Maybe a small art book?

It is pretty strong considering there has been no marketing and release date yet.

I propose, as I just got into Twitter, that we use the hashtag #SupportShenmue to encourage people to give the HD Editions a chance or to encourage support for Shenmue III.

I know it seems mundane as we've technically got what we wanted, but ensuring the audience for the game continues to grow it's not a bad idea.

A few days later and still holding in the Top 50 Best Sellers in the Video Games overall and #13 on the PS4 Best Sellers.
