Lincoln

Just saw the poster for this today and I'm definitely interested in seeing it. Setting aside the fact that it's a Spielberg movie, Daniel Day-Lewis is one of those really incredible actors that I'd go to see anything he's in.

I love historical movies. I love movies about politics. I love Spielberg movies. I miss movies like this being made (epic dramas).

Seeing it at the cinema.

Funny thing about the vampire hunter film... It was originally a book. My (possibly) future mother-in-law read it. Above her flat lives a 67 year old who looks like she's 85. Anyway, she borrowed the book. And she thinks it's real. She also believes that another book she read about the government hunting down and killing witches and warlocks is real. She also has a cupboard full of tinned soup from twenty years ago ready to survive the apocalypse. No bullshit.

Sounds like my great aunt. Cupboard full of tinned food just like there's another World War on the horizon, or some shit. A lot of it is out of date too.

Spielberg is a fantastic director and has a horrible stigma to him just because he is popular.

If he's not fighting vampires then there's just no point. I see no other appeal to the man.

I've been looking forward to this since Liam Neeson was cast as Lincoln. However, we all know Daniel Day-Lewis' performance will be historic.

What I am about to say is not a joke. I saw Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and was so impressed by the cleverness of the sheer plausibility of the plot, how they tie in historic events... I consider it to be a masterpiece. I just love it. It was so ingeniously preposterous and engaging... the Confederates being secretly led by a vampire lord... slaves as a food source for vampiric plantation owners.... ooooooh, my god........ Even the acting was really good. It's sad that it's so ridiculous that Benjamin Walker won't get credit for it, but he really did the best job you could possibly do playing Abraham Lincoln as if he were a vampire hunter. It was a very memorable performance, both funny and incredibly moving at the same time. I have nothing else to say about it. Everyone should see it. I don't know how they pulled it off.
