I'm kinda torn, love Inafune, love that Team ninja is admitting their mistakes but HATE spark unlimited.

(It also looks kinda like madworld colored in)

To me it looks like a cash in for a phone game trying too hard to be "hardcore".
Madworld was satire so the over the top violence worked.

I hope that game is a massive success. If only to give us the inevitable Dentistry simulator spin-off: Yaeba Ninja Z.

"Quality over quantity" comes to mind, and is something we should all be glad about.

I think the point is that the Japanese devs are moving away from making console games and moved on to portable/handheld gaming instead. I personally don't mind it since I have liked handheld gaming way more this gen, but it's easy to see that times are a changing when you see figures like that.

I like handheld gaming but iOS and phone gaming is freakin killing us. (plus its not fun forcing everything into one input system that isn't precise)

Seriously who here would take Shenmue Gai over Shenmue 3?

The funny thing about mobile gaming is that they're for people with short attention spans. I remember askin my brother if he sees em through or if he just has a quick blast on em while he's takin a shit. Guess what his answer was?

The moral of the story is... Core gamers ain't ever gonna choose mobile gaming over console gaming, and PC gamers tend to be stubborn bastards who hate any other form of gaming anyway.

Nah i think the people willing to buy dedicated consoles will remain, what I'm worried about is developers. seeing the money that can be made shitting on an ipad and passing it off as a game, a whole lot of talented guys are gunna go squat on the iOS lawn. I think they'll come a time when people will want high fidelity games on handhelds and those games won't be there.

The Japan Game Awards Future Division, a sort of best-of-show category for TGS, has announced its winners for the year. Attendees on the first three days vote for their favorite announced or shown but unreleased titles, with the most popular receiving the awards.

This year’s winners are Ace Attorney 5, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, Fantasy Life, God Eater 2, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All-star Battle, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Monster Hunter 4, Resident Evil 6, Soul Sacrifice, Tales of Xillia 2, and Yakuza 5.

:nice!:

Good selection. Nice to see new IPs like Soul Sacrifice and Bravely Default being recognised, despite how niche they both are and up against all of those established series.
