What an amazing day, the sun is out (odd for November in Ieland), sold my TV, am up early and i think i will go to the bakery for some nice bread and fresh cup of tea. Cant stay out for long though as we have a bit of a bot problem.

No no, you got your wish chappy. i Pmed Yama this morning. Its over for me, i don't need to put up with this rubbish anymore. Its the second time i officially asked to be removed, and there will not be a third. Yama talked me out of it the first time, but nothings changed. I held out for as long as i could, but i have had enough. This has went on for so long now and i am proud of myself and all i have done for here. But its the end of the road. Shenmue will always be a part of me, its now etched in my skin and my blood. But that doesn't mean i am obliged to remain here. As soon as Yama is on and relieves me of my post, i will be gone. Life is bigger than this place, and its too bad you couldnt realise that and actually leave. Instead, you did things like alter ego your own goodbye topic, and sat and either orchestrated, or contributed to good members leaving. The world is full of experiences and great people, so i ask again: who needs this?

So i will continue my last day cleaning up these bots. Curious to see if we hit over 100 in 24 hours.

Gotta say I'm glad to read that. For all the right reasons, obviously. There's no point goin on your little adventure only to have to come back on here to moderate the place. Hope you'll still drop by every now n again to let us know how it's goin though.

Oh no the moderation job is very simple. I have a net book and almost constant internet connection via the hostels wifi in Oz, and i will be online everyday on Facebook and blogging etc so here shouldnt be a problem. But its one person who ruins this place, and makes this place a horrible climate to visit, made even harder when there were better times in the past. Even if he went, he still has his little group of supporters who will have a sly poke here and then, thus continuing the drama. Its why they really come here, because they know after a sustained period of time, there will be some sort of occurance to get the popcorn out whist a few grenades are thrown in to mix it all up. For people like Henry and myself, we can just turn off an walk away. Clearly some cant, and have a severely unhealthy attachment to this place. When asked to be a moderator for a forum dedicated to something you love then it should be a honor and a privelidge. But for the Shenmue Dojo, you feel like a prisoner, and hopefully very soon, i will be free.

I've got mixed feeling on this since you do provided so much for the Dojo that you leaving would be a big blow to the community. As you said before Pete we don't have that many great and moderately consistent posters so you leaving would i think lower the activity. On the other hand, since you are leaving for another country in approx 5 days, I do think it can be the right thing to do since you're about to go on a whole new adventure. The last thing you need is continued stress from handling trivial matters in the forums. I still have you on Facebook so it won't be that much of an issue for me, but I will miss the Shenmue discussions that you have created here.

OL's quite active, he just doesn't post as often anymore. MK usually checks in every other day at least and will probably be more active in the new year. I'm hoping, at least.

I think for a new mod all they have to do is just solve the problem, reply with their reasoning and then end it at that. No need to stretch it out with a line of posts if there's backlash. A member's mind is usually already made up so trying to waste energy on the situation would be moot.
