Yet, the girls you see on magazine covers don't even really exist themselves. They're all the products of photoshop and editing software. Living up to these false idols is an impossible carrot on the stick climb to buy and kill yourself into making yourself into something you're not.

And then they market songs, films, etc, which offer a saccharine, heavily romanticised view of love, which supposedly everyone must experience at some point unless they're fucking freaks, and must be totally inadequate if they don't "achieve" this, since the reason they don't have it must be because they're ugly/weird/whatever else, hence the "incentive" to buy such shitty, superficial aesthetic products.
It's really sick psychological manipulation, exemplified by shampoo adverts. I get hit with a brief but distinct bout of depression every time I see a teenage girl with false eyelashes, stiff hair, really fucking red lipstick (oftentimes, anyway) and god knows how many layers of foundation. I feel like there's very little semblance of a human being left, like I'm staring at specter, albeit one which is emotionally vulnerable.

And excuse me for being like 12 days late.

I finished an exam today. I don't even feel like I care how shit it went. It's just out of the way. That made me feel happy, or maybe more relieved.

I don't get it. Not having as go, but what have grammy awards and record sales got to do with the right to judge talent? Many of the greatest talents in music have never won grammys or reached number 1. Make similar signs regarding grammy wins and hit songs for Dusty Springfield, or Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Townes Van Zandt or even Jimi Hendrix to pick some pretty well known names, and they wont look so impressive either. Although the whole being dead thing kinda shits on their ability to judge. Hmmm. Carry on.

Based on the stuff that actually goes through on those shows I would argue none of them have the right no matter how much gold they have.

Although she may have no awards or number ones she's still had more success then most who spread the photo around as much as I hate to say it.

For the first time in my life I had an anxiety attack in public that I had 100% control over. Did not need a break to breath or go to the car. I acted very normal. :D

The internet is for bashing people you don't know for spurious reasons. That's why it was invented.

Saw Shenmue 2 DC in a local game store today! In good condition but for £40 so I gave it a miss as I have it already.

I'm just amazed at the kind of talent (and nostalgia) people have for old 80's childhood cartoons.

Also kind of amazed that something as kid friendly as the Care Bears had a villain that looked so awesome.
