I, like the author of the article, albeit in lesser pedantic fashion, have almost always been extremely uneasy about it.

Everything, nowadays, ranging from technology to creative mindset, is so distinctive, that maintaining or recreating the uniquely enshrouding, yet natural atmosphere present in this game would be extremely difficult, if not infeasible. I also shamefully agree disrupting nostalgia through a possible disappointment would be somewhat unpleasant.
