Many years ago when he was talking about the chapters in the story it was already quite clear that meeting Lan Di was not the end and that there were several more chapters after that. Originally the series was planned to be about 5 games from what I've read so it seemed as if Lan Di was something for Shenmue III. He has mentioned the fact that there were several Chi You Men leaders above Lan Di for example.

Yeah. It's a baseless theory at this point but I've always liked the whole "Lan Di is just a pawn, Tentei murdered his father and pinned the blame on Iwao" theory.

Well that end sucked quite hard. Still nothing about the future of the series. Not even last words by Yu or anything.
Oh well, we gotta wait for E3 or whatever for any announcement anyways, if there's going to be one.
