It's a nice sentiment he gives, but why does everyone always jump at E3 as the most likely place for something like Shenmue to be revealed?
I'd be willing to put money on this: Shenmue (or Onimusha or Dragon Quest) will never make its first big unveiling at, of all things, an E3. It just won't.
E3 is so much more often the home for western and first-party hype. Sega is almost entirely a third-party Japanese company these days. So unless Shenmue somehow becomes a first-party game or ends up being made by a western studio (please god no), the most logical place we can ever expect to see a Shenmue announcement would be a convention in Japan. TGS, more than likely.
