Seriously. Most of the Dojo faithful are too young to remember when Sega promised a "big" surprise at E3 like a decade ago.

Dojo members were going crazy thinking it was going to be Shenmue 3 for sure. Some insisted it was going to bust the console war wide open with an earth shattering Dreamcast 2 announcement. I think it wound up as some Matrix game that quickly fell into obscurity.

Ha! Matrix Online. I remember that. And Suzuki's "You'll see.." which turned out to be Shenmue Online.

Looking forward to the Yakuza 0 events.

Yeah I said it a couple of times after the Shenmue III announcement when people where talking about a Shenmue HD campaign. Everyone seemed to think it made more sense to just ask Sega then the guy who got us Shenmue III...

I would think Gio's already doing whatever he can, as he's proven himself to be tuned in to the demand for Shenmue. But it takes two to tango and in the case of Shenmue HD, the developer half of the equation isn't Ys Net who are as keen as we are. It's Sega, or a Sega-hired company, and so if anyone still needs convincing, it's got to be them.

Sony confirms PS4K but announces it won't be at E3.

Andrew House, president and global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment, told the Financial Times that the “high-end PS4” would be more expensive than the current $350 version.

“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” he said. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”

The new console, which is codenamed “Neo”, will target hardcore gamers, he said, as well as consumers with a 4K television set looking for more high-resolution content.

However, in a move that may disappoint some fans, Mr House said that Sony would not be unveiling its new console next week and refused to say when or at what price the unit would go on sale. “We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety,” he said.

Nonetheless, he downplayed concerns that the move would cause interoperability problems between the old and new PS4 hardware.

“All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4,” he said.

Ha! Classic. Those were funny times. I was so down on E3 that year, it was just so predictable around the time the fifth trailer with a game choppa exploding. It got even better when instead of a CG trailer there was this random forgettable FPS where you actually get into a choppa and pilot it instead. lol.

The difference with last year's E3 was phenomenal vs all of those choppers exploding at that E3 (was it 2013?). I'll be in chat hopefully, have Monday off.
