I couldn't believe it, when I saw the first trailer a couple of weeks ago. I believe it even less now.
It's just RIDICULOUS how much effort they put into this shit. How much can they build around a glorified fruit machine where you just stop rotating drums?

If they can put that much time into something like this there is no way they can talk themselves out of a proper remake. I'd love to see that. But no, they can't even finish the scrapped MGS V chapter and bring it as DLC...

Eh, I still don't get what the big deal is. Everything has a pachinko machine in Japan. There are Fist of the North Star ones, Final Fantasy ones. Every franchise anyone gives a shit about tends to get a pachinko machine eventually.
And it doesn't require much effort. All it is, is a bunch of scenes from the original game, reanimated with new cg. They're just video clips. A small team of animators with access to the original design archives could throw that shit together no problem. Hell, a team of fans could do the same shit, given a solid year or two. Then you dump it in a pachinko machine, and it's a product.
It's really not a big deal.

Man, I was literally mid-yawn as I scrolled down the page only to see this .gif. Felt like I entered a whole new dimension for a split-second

It's nice to see so many of Snake Eater's characters rendered in this way. Shame we'll probably never get an actual remake of the game, but that's how it goes.

Or fucking stick a pen in my eye. If you guys think this is annoying, imagine living here seeing Pachinko places you think are real arcades at first everywhere you go.

Don't feel bad Axm. I'm sure you still have far more arcades than we do. I don't even have an arcade in my city any longer.

Some guys are setting up a virtual reality based arcade in my city. Seems like an interesting concept.

We have an old fashioned arcade over here called Arcade Club which has loads of classic arcade games from SEGA (House of the Dead series, Virtua Tennis series, Daytona, SEGA Rally, Space Harrier, OutRun series etc), Namco (Time Crisis series, Point Blank series, Rolling Thunder), Konami (TMNT, X-Men, Vendetta, The Simpsons etc), Capcom (Street Fighter series) and loads of others from Data East, Technos etc. It's amazing seeing them all in their cabinets again, many I've not seen or played in over a decade, some I've never played before either. Also brings back memories of how good some these companies used to be.

They can sell all the face grease to McDonald's at the end of each week. It's a win-win :)!

Thats not really what I meant, my computer can load the images just fine. Its just scrolling past the bulk of them again to see new posts thats a bother, no need to get aggravated, that was not my intent.

All the arcades here are bars.

Pretty brilliant idea, actually.

Ya I saw one in Echo Park near Dodger stadium when I went home a couple months ago. Really like that atleast our generation is keeping it alive in the bar scene.
