The Olympics in "Ryo"

I think they should use the opportunity to publicize Shemue 3?

Since the Olympics are being held in "Ryo" maybe Shenmue 3 can gain more $$$???

Is Judo any use in a street fight? I'm no expert but I've seen quite a lot of cases where people who practice Judo have been wrecked by an amateur that is just capable of throwing a few heavy hitting punches.

Judo can be useful in a street fight, it's just not the only thing you should know. Picking a dude up and slamming him on pavement could easily knock somebody out. If you only train in grappling competitions though, you're not training against one of the most common attacks: head punches. It'd be like if you were Ryo during a free battle but you could only parry and use throws. Granted, a lot of grapplers are tough SOBs and can tank a few shots before closing the distance and putting their skills to use. Shit happens though, and sometimes one shot it all it takes.

In this particular instance, I'd say it was poor awareness and circumstance that got the Judo medalist beaten. The article said he was celebrating at night on a beach, meaning it was dark and he may have been drinking. It also says that he didn't require treatment and just had a black eye, so I'm guessing the mugger just sucker punched and grabbed whatever he could. It wasn't like the medalist was knocked out or anything. But I wasn't there, so maybe the Judo guy got totally embarrassed, who knows.

I took "sucker punch"/surprise attack away from that story too, yeah.

Ryo and Delin would be unstoppable in the 2 man, 100kg crate carrying.

I'd certainly rather watch that than synchronized swimming.
