Well, it's not so much of a surprise S3 didn't win it, but Mass Effect? I didn't know it was that big and surely didn't expect it to win against names like Resident Evil, God of War or Zelda. Probably still not gonna play it though. as I'm really not into the whole SciFi/Space/Star Wars kind of thing.

Glad to see, Firewatch is getting that much recognition. I really enjoyed that one.

Never really expected Shenmue to win. Big games or indie darlings are usually the ones to sweep these shows. Genuinely kind of surprised Mass Effect got the win, though. I thought all the goodwill capital for that series went flying out the door with the third game.

Overwatch is definitely the big winner here; it even outpaced Call of Duty to get the Best Multiplayer Game award. Also, it's amusing that Twilight Princess HD gets the Nintendo Game of the Year award, this says a lot about how weak Nintendo's line-up has become when a port of a ten year old game is the best they can do. Anyway, a pity that Shenmue didn't get an award but there's always next year, when Shenmue 3 is actually released!

I must be getting old... this rotten mutiplyer games gives me a feel that my time is over... I must quit with video-games.
