why does ryo's watch stop working...

Postby threeblades » Sun Oct 03, 2004 8:04 pm

You don't see the clock anymore at the top of the screen and when you look at his watch it doesn't work anymore. Anybody has a theory about this?
I thought maybe somehow time become "frozen" (would explain why the birds don't sing) but then I thought it'S impossible because the waterfall didn't stop.

Wow. Very perceptive stuff, Threeblades. You could just be onto something...

I'm not sure this has ever been noticed before.

My guess for the birds not singing was always "magical disturbance", in that they could sense the energy from inside the cave. Using that theory, if true, the same force could probably stop a watch.

Really, no one ever noticed? Well, I thought most people noticed but never thought it was important so no one ever mentionned it...

At first, I thought the birds stopped singing because the helicopter was nearby (just a theory). But then a few months ago, I was looking all over the cave for clues and eventually I wondered what time it was and I noticed the watch was not working (but I never talked about it) so I thought it was pretty strange...

I've searched extensively and haven't found anything regarding this. Wish I could check myself, but all of my hardware is packed-away. :(

I also thought it could just be because they didn't want you to spend all night there but that would be kind of stupid :?

ChaosZ3RO has confirmed it. The watch does in-fact disappear and is "frozen" in the Notebook-function. Odds are, it is nothing, and only as you stated. Still interesting nonetheless.

I've never noticed that before. Good find.

Does his watch continue to work after Ryo and Shenhua exit the cave?

I think it's the same as with the Yellow Head Bldg - simply so that you could take your time without an insane amount of time passing in the game and so that you wouldn't have to "go to sleep".

On that note, how is it when you're searching for the key's in Yuanda Zhu's room? Is the watch working then?

Searching for the keys takes alot less time than the cave sequence with Shenhua, doesn't it? Maybe they didn't need to.

I THINK the watch still works but time passes more slowly, but I could be wrong.

Does his watch continue to work after Ryo and Shenhua exit the cave?

How are we supposed to know that, we didn't even see them come out yet...

Oh, my bad. I was thinking of the cave where they sleep on the way to Shenhua's house.
