A place 300 miles away tests faster than the 2 local servers, its always been like that. (thats the way it is with Seattle and Vancouver anyway) Curious.

wow a few weeks ago I showed crimson and I only had about 2mb, gone up quite a bit

Seeing as BT won't install a landline into my flat for another month I bought one of those mobile broadband things, it's actually not too bad at all for casual browsing.

They do a 9 month student contract which is handy. Since you probably won't be living at the same place after June or whatever.
EDIT: Just done another test. Never really had any problems with Virgin media either.
