Game of Thrones is surely the most epic thing that ever hit our TV screens. Just finished watching season 1 in one day, and god damn I just can't get enough. I'm afraid, though, that I can't start watching season 2 yet. I need to get it when it's on DVD and watch it in one day too.

God damn I'm addicted! I guess I should think about getting the books.

I saw the first four episodes (I guess) of the first season. I haven't gotten around to watch the rest, maybe I'll try to take some time for it later on. To me, the series feels kind of "soap-like" in a way compared to something like Lord of the Rings. It's probably due to the more down to earth, political tone with power struggles, backstabbing etc. I expected there to be more mystery and action after seeing the opening sequence actually.

Lord of the Rings on the other hand is more high fantasy having a grander scale of fighting against dark forces. I myself prefer that more epic, otherworldly tone if I would have to choose. Middle Earth seems to be a more fleshed out entity in itself too. But again, they have two different angles.

PS Not using the soap reference as a negative. It's a well made series. I just couldn't find another way of describing how I kind of perceived it. The way plotlines go, the intrigues etc.

Dont worry it builds up but they had a low budget so they had to cut out big battles in season 1.

Also ys the fantasy stuff comes more into it as the books go on. Some of it comes into play towards the end of season 1 and carries on from there. Its sort of LOTR only not every character is gay by the end.

NO I was on the 3rd or 4th disc and watched those eps.
