Went to see Skyfall yesterday and I must say I was disappointed with it.
I've heard relative unanimous positive reviews about it and IMO it did not deliver.
The first half was just a bore to sit through and, as things started to pick (when the main vilain is introduced), it becomes stale fast enough and ends in a rather anticlimatic fashion.
There are some things that bother me
However what really left me sad is the overall tone of the movie. It's was a dark and moody film, I get it, but the feeling I get is that (for better or worse) every action movie nowaday has to mimmick or rip-off the Dark Knight in one way or another. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Dark Knight, but action movies don't have to take itself too serious, they're over-the-top and appallingly not like real life, that's where the charm lies.
And what I liked about the bond movies is that wiseass remarks (where he almost escapes a lifethreatening situation with just a witful and innuendo remark), how bond oozes class and seduction, a right mixture of comedy and action and vilains that want to take over the world just for the sake of it.
As far as bond movies, I just can't be happy with this one
