I had seen Evangelion 1.11 You are (not) alone, the first movie remaking the series, months ago, but only now had the chance to see 2.22...

Oh my, is it awesome!

It's a beast of it's one, and a total reinventing of the story, polar opposite to the first movie that was basicly a redraw version of the first episodes of the series.

2.22 is more matured, more laid back and downright entertainting while being as symbolic and philosophical as before.

There is a new female character that I'm really liking (the few we see of her) and whose role I really want to see developed in 3.33 and 4.44, new EVAS, everyone is more likeable and has more depth, the production value is astonishing and the ending is jaw dropping.

Where will Anno go from here?

Will this be even for epic and dramatic than The End of Evangelion?

Insane.

It really hurts having to wait so long for the next two movies.

Just finished GITS: SAC 2nd gig. Wow, it had it's moments, but it was surely a very pretentious anime. I followed it along the story and found myself smirking alot. The dialogue and plot are set up to attempt talking over the viewers head at all costs. Often times the characters will take 5 minutes to make a simple point just to make sure it''s said in a high flown manner that will undermine the viewer. It seems that no one in the anime is actually a real human, though they claim that. Very little personality. You can count on 1 finger how many smiles, laughs, or humorous things you will hear any of the human characters say or do in the entire series. The Tachikoma's provide the life to the thing and they are annoying machines. Definitely will be skeptical of this Series from now on.

Just watched Perfect Blue. It was a very weird anime movie. It almost reminded me of Shutter Island. SImilar type of dream theme going on.

Gee, I was hoping to actually see some posts up here on this one for sure. It would really help me to find more shows that I'd like to see.

Anyway, I think the mark of a great anime has always been to me, one that makes you wonder what you're going to do once it's over. The latest anime to make me feel like that was the unsuspecting....

In the beginning, this anime was very typical in nature as far as the dialogue went. The story covered some of Japan's history, and had a nice flair to it. As time went on it developed into it's own world. The hero was kept down to earth and realistic and I began to be reminded of my favorite anime of all time- Baki the Grappler, when I noticed the attention paid to technique. I noticed everything explained and justified in the anime throughout. Then the humor really got rolling. I never realized how much humor plays a role in endearing an anime to your heart. But the interraction between the characters and jokes were hilarious and didn't detract from the story. Then when the anime was already becoming my new addiction, the artwork goes and becomes amazingly beautiful towards the later half of the anime. It actually became one of the more visually impressive animes I've seen.

It really was sad when the anime drew to an end. Every plot twist and story arc made you take it serious and draw into it because of the execution. I find that I'm watching the movie that proceeds after the story just to see the full events. When an anime like this ends you want to immediately find one like it to fill that void.

Yes. Anime is the term for Japanese Animation. I don't think it's official but so widely used that at this point it doesn't refer to anything else.

OMG! This is not only amazing. Hands down the best anime movie ever in my opinion. It adds so much to the already deep story and makes you appreciate the history behind it all. This series altogether has become a serious contender for my favorite. wow..

And I'm not sure now the other GITS series were, but I absolutely hated SAC 2nd gig. It was horrible. If that's the best, I'd hate to see the worst anime.

Sir I could forgive a person for killing my parents and making me handicapped but I will never forgve such blasphemy on GiTS. Gits is hands down the best thing in the universe and beyond. You sir are now on my list.
