Kojima getting "mature" and "taboo" on our arses with the new MGS! What could this mean? Personally I still rate MGS 1 as being the pound for pound most mature MGS game, not that the other games didn't have poignant moments, it's just that they were usually a tad more jarring and harder to take seriously in the context of all the other extreme ridiculousness or overblown indulgence (things that I did like too, to be honest) that they were caught up in.

I like the way Koj is talking though, even if it doesn't turn out as "taboo" as he's hyping it (I find it unlikely that it will be), it sounds like he's got his creative juices flowing.

to me, it sounds like hes making a realistic & slightly boring mgs game?

Played OPs didnt return for PW, kinda the PSPs fault for not having a second analog stick, but at the same time they were kind of foolish for thinking it could work with only 1. Thats not really what im talking about though, the console experiences mainly MGS4 and by the looks of it, MGR are going to be among the best this gen from the far east.

It was alittle more then just the second analog, less enemies and forced social aspects, they realized the the game needed to change, but the did a bad time actually changing it.

Well Falcom is making ps3 and 4 games, and so ir Level 5. They're actually two of the strongest Japanese game developers and in terms of mainly RPGs they make tons of money (comparable to Square-Enix which is a huge company)

indeed, but there is a whole list of other devs trying to get it right and just failing. IM LOOKING AT YOU CAPCOM, SQUARE, KONAMI (outside of kojimas team and the dev that did MGR Platinum Games add them to the list ryudo posted too)

from what hideo kojima has said in the past, there has never been a strong following for mgs in japan unlike europe/usa. so a metal gear game which just focuses on the action being a success is not a surprise to me.
