It suck so much I subscribed.

Sounds very professional.

The robot

EDIT:All game footage is captured by me, directly off of the original cartridge or disc and the consoles they play on.
Because emulators are for sissies. And poor people.
Both of which I am. But you don't know that. It's the internet. I can tell you anything I want about myself and you'll think it's true.
So for the record, I'm a billionaire jetpack ninja who dates supermodels and cruises around town in a nuclear-powered walking battle tank.
That's just how I roll.

That's your voice? You sound like Jak. Pro voice actor in the making.

It's a good effort. Informative (especially the japanese movie stuff), well edited, and shows lots of gameplay footage. I know you were trying something character based there but I wasn't feeling the drawings. I'm probably putting my standards way too high but it'd be great if it looked something like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibKWrmMs5IQ

Or if you wanna stick to the minimalistic style something like Extra Credits works too: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... hievements

The script and the editing has major potential. Somewhere down the line it'd be great if you can collab with an artist and figure a particular style out.

Yeah, I'd love it if I could get a look sort of like that, but I really don't have the software or know-how for it. I actually just made my crappy little pictures with MSPaint, because I didn't want anything too complicated and I wanted it to be something I could quickly and easily change (if I'm going to make as many videos as I'm hoping, I'd rather not be slowed down too much). I'll probably get better at it as I go, maybe develop some way of animating a bit here and there, but as it is I'm really just feeling my way through in the dark. Doing all of this blind, since I have no experience or training.
Good critique though, I can use stuff like that.
Appreciate the kind words, too.

Really thank you. More game shows the better that are well done.
I need some hints and study this and others to work on mine. I did the dumb thing and rushed a couple out and they show. They make my balls feel like they are in a ringer watching them.

Really enjoyed it.

The robot is good being quite funny as your able to give the feeling that your having a conversation and not just list of shit about the game. I also liked the MSpaint look and it didn't feel to cheap but more a nice style you decided to go with. There isn't really anything I can think that would improve it as I found it pretty well made.

Congrats man I loved it. Now go make a Yakuza video.

Thank fuck, I was afraid it'd be so awful that I'd have to start disliking you. As everyone's sayin though, your voice is surprisingly good. It's calm, and it doesn't come across like you're trying too hard, and your script was well paced - and well acted - too.

I kinda like the robot, but I feel cheated that he's just the Microsoft sound checker guy. The review was informative though, and I will sleep easier tonight knowing that you're a genuinely funny and awesome guy.

Originally I just had a white background. That was boring, so I tried making it a different color. That was boring too, so I tried a sign that said "Single Player Gamer".
That was awful as well, so I finally decided to transplant the characters into real settings. It'll be a different background for each video, probably tropical each time. It just looks better that way, I think.

Thanks a lot guys, I was kind of nervous about posting it at first. Positive reinforcement don't hurt, though. :D
I'll try to get another out in the next couple weeks. I was planning on a Genesis/Megadrive game next, so the process should be a little quicker.

For what it was it was excellent video bro. Certainly not HCG level (m sure you know that) but very professional looking and informative. Its much better then the quality of reviews Ive seen from other game reviewers that have hundreds if not thousands of subscribers. It seems like the best way to get attention for your channel is to try and get the attention of the HCG. If he likes it he will probably plug you. You could start to involve yourself in the YouTube gaming community.

Now all that said it is possible to have a great quality show and get no attention. This is a channel I watch that deserves a whole lot more subscribers then he has:

http://www.youtube.com/user/optitube

This guy has excellent reviews but for some reason hasnt gotten much attention from the YouTube gaming community. Its kind of a weird thing. I guess if you have one review thats popular it will snowball from there.

But ya all in all a great first review. Id give it an 8/10. The only criticism I have is that the robot, while funny may get annoying (just my opinion) if its overused but in this video there seems to be a good balance. Just leave most of the game reviewing to you.

Rather good first effort. The review was well done and your voice is cute. The main area for improvement imo is the attempts at humour. They felt a little forced and the self criticising during the attempts came across like you had little confidence in the humour and it was added as a pre-emptive defence against potential backlash, but that's stuff that should improve with time as orange and robot develop character and you grow more confident in your style. On the art I quite like the simple style. Functional and doesn't detract from the quality.
