It causes an automatic stagger, which can be followed up with a melee attack-->ground stomp. Very useful, especially if you're trying to conserve ammo a bit in Mercenaries mode. And it's balanced pretty well with the stamina bar, to keep you from spamming it too much.

The more I play it (beat the three main scenarios already, and still messing around in Mercs mode with my brother) the more I actually really like the gameplay. I've seen the combat rolls/slides criticized as being "useless" in a few places, but it's obvious the reviewers just couldn't get a proper handle on it. They control really well when you get used to it, can be really useful for dodging while still attacking, and they look cool as hell. Only problem is, all these new moves just push the series even further into action territory (if it could even get much further), which is a big no-no in many peoples' eyes.

I'm just downloading Resi 5 (yeah I know, get with the times grandad...) as it's free on PlayStation Plus right now and I'll be fucked if I fork out 40 notes for Resi 6 when I'll probably only play it for an hour.

Playing the Mercenaries mode with my brother last night, we scored well over a 1,000,000 points on one of the maps (an S-rank only requires 220-something-thousand, I think), and apparently ranked somewhere close to 300th out of over 100,000 uploaded scores. Something like that.
Not too shabby.

I dont really understand the huge debate everyone seems to pull. Sure it has its weaknesses like the annoying qte's and zombies withstand too much but honestly in the end I liked the Leon's part.

I think my favorite part was Jake's scenario. The story was a little more interesting than the others (Sherry trying to escort Wesker's son, now a merc in Europe, back to the US to make an antidote for the C-Virus out of the natural antibodies in his blood), the attitude was a little more fun, and certain levels/sequences were a little more creative or interesting than in the other scenarios. I liked the whole Nemesis-style dynamic of having Ustanak (a giant Tyrant-like monster) chasing Sherry and Jake through most of their scenario.

And for any Dreamcast fans out there (I know there's only about one or two on here :P ) there's actually one level that almost felt like an homage to D2. Stuck on a snowy mountain in the middle of a blizzard, fighting bio-mutants everywhere, trying to get to a log cabin for safety. You can even ride around on a snowmobile to get places faster.
Not sure if it was actually meant as an homage, but it certainly made me feel like playing D2 again. Had a similar vibe.

The more I play this the more I like it. I just started Ada's part and I too have to say Jake's part may have been the best so far because the variable scenes and environment. From snowy hills to chinese mansions and labs. I especially liked the lab part.
And yeah the ustanak was great add for the part.

I really understand now why some may say this isnt real resident evil game or they have ruined the series because of all the action but overall I think this is great game and good sequel.

I watched gt.tv's debate concerning this game and I agree about how Shane said the game is great if you can see pass the title.

I completely disagree.

The game could be called Jake and Sherry do Eurasia, people would still dislike it because no amount of media or changing of names can ever make the enemies less bullet spongy, make keycards fun, or allow the resuscitation system to actually work.

Im almost done with the game and I really do like it. imo way more of an RE game then 5 ever was. I get the complaints about it. Alot of it is valid. But to me I see more positives then negatives so in my book thats a good game. Not great or amazing. But satisfactory and good. Id still play REmake, 2,3 and CV over this any day though.

I hate to but might be forced to sell RE4 & REmake. I can't play the series anymore as it's a health risk to me. The Jump scares those games are filled with are too risky. Shame as I love REmake but not played it in forever.

"Hey, Capcom. Call me. We can fix Resident Evil. Together. :-)" Bleszinski tweeted, to which Capcom UK replied, "bring Pizza". Capcom UK later noted that Bleszinski's tweet was "a bit cocky".

Just finished RE6's all four scenario's. Messed around with the extra mode's too. Damn this game just has so much content worthy of the $60. Capcom could have easily thrown Ada's 10 hours in as DLC and everyone would have expected that of them, but they didnt and im glad they decided to keep all the content unified as it should be. Cant argue with a solid 30-40 hour action game.
Very satisfied with this entry. It's a game ill actually go back to every once in awhile. Leon and Ada's chapters were the best. Jake's was also pretty good minus some of qte's. However I will never touch Chris chapters ever again. Eww..
Overall I give the game a 3.5/5 not the best in the series, but it certainly holds its own against 4 and 5. Controls take some getting used to but in the end it's a real refinement. Change that ugly cross hair sight that comes by default back to the laser sighting of 4 and 5, kill the HUD and you get a much better way to play the game how it should have come by default. It has about a million times more and better story then those two others combined aswell.
Squash some of the minor bugs, improve hit detection and half the amount of QTE's and it would have been tied with RE4 for me.
