3DS

In addition to the price cut for new consumers, those who bought/buy a 3DS before the August 12 markdown will be able to download 20 free games from the 3DS eShop. That offer comes in the form of ten NES Virtual Console games (including classics like Zelda and Super Mario Bros.), which will be available after September 1, and ten Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games (like Yoshi's Island and Metroid Fusion), which will be available a little later.

I was planning on buying one anyway but I think this is a steal. All they need now is some more games.

Nintendo always lowere the price of it's handhelds not long after launch.
Funny people are making a big deal it's doomed "HAZ NO GAMEZ" Well 3DS already has a better selection the the original DS did at this point. Took a full year before DS got anything. 3DS will be fine.

Can you actually redeem your 10 free downloads now? My friend has one and thought he'd like to know.

You have to wait until September 1 to download the free games. Anyway. I am a bit disappointed with 3DS. The screen being small is my major complaint and not having HD graphics.

Seems for the first time Nintendo will be losing money when they sell a console.

3DS is still making 70$ profit. It costs 100$ to manufacture.

Fucking news sites all saying they are now losing money. They won't be making quite $70 as they need to sell it to the stores for less then that.

20 my friend 20. My understanding is 10 NES 10 GBA only something like 10 or 15 have been announced but we'll know all within the next few weeks.

True, it is a loss, not a big one but a loss indeed.

New to handhelds Intruder? Granted the resolution on the screen isn't very good to start with you shouldn't be expecting 1920x1080 on a screen so small, to be honest its a waste. Truthfully I would like to see a resolution upgrade and some work done on the coloring when it comes to ds games.

theres been a lot of 3rd party cancellations because they've lost their damn minds, the biggest being Legends 3 (which really shouldn't have been canned) its come to a point where the 2ds is 170$ and Capcom knows people will buy it, so this is getting more and more ridiculous. A few companies and websites are just being doomsayers, without much issue at all Zelda hit a million units without there being too many more consoles out there.

I don't feel ripped off to be honest, got it, enjoying now that I have a few games and I'm happy to get a bunch of games for free. If they take this chance to step things up and put some more gameboyclassic up, like Metroid 2 and a few GBA games like fire emblem I'd be fucking over the moon.

If a handheld was given an HD screen and power. Cost of what 600$ or more aside. The Game Gear battery would mock you!

It's laughing at you Mr. HD Handheld Battery!

It seems some of the Nintendo execs helped facilitate the price cut by cutting their own salaries.

I sooooo want one now. I am thinking of getting one before the price cut to get all the free games. THey generally look fun and I havent played some. Not to mention the following games:
Ocarina of Time, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion 2(holy shit), StarFox, Kid Icarus, MGS3 Snake Eater, and plenty more. This is tempting indeed...
