Fire Emblem

Fire Emblem is an old series of strategy RPGs going back to 1990. Shining Force borrowed a lot of elements from FE, but theres one very big difference. In Fire Emblem if a character falls in battle, they die permanently. (note: newer games have a casual mode where fallen allies come back next chapter)

At the time of writing this there are 10 games and 2 remakes as well as a rumor floating around about 2 games on the 3DS.

(Note: Rekka no Ken/Blazing Sword is the 7th game in the series and the first to be released in the US, its just called Fire Emblem in the west.)

Very varied sound, some of the people that started on Fire Emblem went on to work on tracks for Mother and Metroid.

Heck even the clone series that sony had (Tear Ring Saga) had good music.

Whats great is the composers from the first game, still composed a few tracks for the most recent remake.

I wish I worked in brand management in some way. If the rumor is true, then the game its based off was never released in the west. Why I'm not sure, the Wii game Akatsuki no megami was one of the highest selling games in the franchise and sold much better in the US then in Japan. Which just goes to show theres certainly a market for fire emblem in the west (so not releasing new mystery of the emblem was absolutely idiotic)

in any case, fuuin no tsurugi is a gba game, a very small gba game as its the 6th fire emblem and the first in the us was the 7th. A full unofficial translation patch was released? why not contact the author or just re-translate the game in house. from there sell it as a download on the 3ds shop. Its not only a low risk, high yield operation, its raises awareness for upcoming software.

Bleh, bad decisions.

Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi (Famicom), Gaiden (Famicom, Monshō no Nazo (Super Famicom), Seisen no Keifu (Super Famicom, Thracia 776 Special Edition Box Set (Super Famicom, cloth map, plushies, tape), Fūin no Tsurugi (JP-GBA), then the US releases of Fire Emblem and Sacred Stones (GBA), US release of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, and Us release of Shadow Dragon. The last few are the JP releases of Shadow Dragon, Path of radiance and the recently released "New mystery".

The two DS games are remakes of the 1st and 3rd games.

I've always been semi-interested in Fire Emblem ever since my friends started cursing at me for the stuff I'd pull off with Roy in SSB Melee. I never bought one of their games, though. At the time of smash brothers melee I don't even think one of their games had come Stateside. Perhaps just as well. Too many games!!

Roy's dad Eliwood is the star of the seventh game in the series, Fire Emblem: Rekka no ken on GBA, which was released in English as just "Fire Emblem".

After that we got the 8th(Sacred Stones/GBA), 9th(Path of Radiance/GCN) which features Ike, 10th(Radiant Dawn/Wii) a direct sequel, and a remake of the first(Shadow Dragon/DS) which has Marth as the protagonist.
