I'm still pretty shocked at how good this game turned out to be. Great visuals, awesome voice acting (Mark Strong is perfectly cast), surprisingly inventive gameplay mechanics, and just a really technically-sound product all around. One of the true underappreciated gems from last year.
Aside from the Space Marine power armor being really cool-looking (and very influential to other properties that would come later), I was never very interested in the Warhammer 40000 franchise. Always imagined it as being kind of stiff and dusty, something with very little to hold my interest.
This game turned that around completely.
I mean, there are still some things related to it that I have no interest in (it all depends on the execution of each individual product; some are great, some not so much), but overall I find it incredibly cool, appealing, and interesting now. Actually tempted to start reading some of the novels (of which there are many).
