As a sort of collector (albeit more of a bargain hunter variety) I have conflicted feelings looking at something like that eBay user's collection. The best way I can describe it is that I think it's too sterile. My favourite games collection is that of Johnny Millenium (The Happy Console Gamer) it's so cluttered and personal, really organic you could say.



Seeing his game room really changed my view on collecting, I basically took everything off my shelves that I either wasn't interested in playing or didn't have some kind of attachment too. The end result is that I have a smaller collection but one that I'm overall much happier with.

Every time I see a collection like that I just imagine a guy bringing a woman back from a bar and her being freaked out by all that stuff.

Could by why he's selling up, possibly experienced a sort of road to Damascus / 40 Year Old Virgin moment. On the other hand he obviously has a ridiculous disposable income.

That was the first thing I looked at and I actually think Yama probably has a more complete collection as far as Resident Evil goes.

The missus is just as into games as I am, but I think it's the obsessive nature of the collection Riku's getting at. There's having a collection, then there's owning every piece of gaming merchandise in existence. Any bird probably woulda thought the guy brought her back to stick her in a Zelda costume and lock her in a giant-sized glass display case.

I have a bit of OCD so while I keep stuff on the shelf I have to make it look very organized and the slightest change upsets me so I fix it. This is just with my collection however

When I was single I had a lot of sex with a lot of people. They were generally impressed with my collection but then again I used to go to DnD games where sex was ok, and cosplay parties.
